Hope has been adopted my Michael & Samira Orchard. Hope is currehtly doing the Steve Austin training coarse and showing great results. She is a welcome addition to a very animal friendly household and making her self right at home tho the cats still seem a bit put out and Michael just lost a position in front of the tv

GREEN

Hi Staffy Rescue followers, we had a lovely couple come out to meet Green on sunday, you are a perfect match and we wouldnt want Green to miss out on this!. With so many phone calls, we seem to have misplaced the paperwork/phone number. Please if you read this and you came to Staffy Rescue on sunday to see Green, call Lin on 0450 099 177!!!! THANKS!

Hi Lin,

Just a short note to let you know how Caity is going. Great!!

She is still fitting in well with the odd minor hiccup on the chewing front. She has loved our boys in the pool, gets very excited with the water. We managed to get her in for a swim today and I am sure by the end of the summer she will love it!!

UPDATE: Oscar and Cleo

We have had them now for almost 2 years.
I have to say we look after them beautifully and they are very happy, at the same time making us very happy. They are so well mannered and very obedient.
We lived in Woollahra for a year and walked them in Centennial Park every day.
You may not recall but Oscar was not very socialised and nervous around some dogs. However with the right training and attention he is now very comfortable and confident with most dogs and very well behaved.
We met people in Bondi who knew them previously and discovered where their owner worked but decided not to make contact. We still can’t believe how anybody could ever have given them up.
We now live in NZ and have of course brought them with us. Its greener over here !! not so hot in the summer and they love coming boating with us as you can see.
All the best to you and the wonderful job you do in looking after and rehabilitating such beautiful animals.

Surrenders

Our new policy:

From today Staffy Rescue will regrettably not be accepting surrenders. The reasoning behind this is we just do not have enough space at our shelters nor the ability to assess the dogs following proper surrender procedures. Hundreds of dogs die each week in pounds and by taking on surrenders, dogs who do not have a home loose the opportunity to ever have a second chance at life. Yes we may take dogs that have been surrendered to the pound by their owners but at least your dog has an option. It may not be the best home for them but they still have one. People need to practice responsible pet ownership and understand that a dog is a commitment for life, you would not surrender your child due to change of circumstance or behaviour issues so why would you surrender your four legged family member?

We have been over whelmed with the amount of surrender calls and emails. Please do not contact us if you want to surrender your dog. We are more than willing to give you advice or the numbers of trainers/behaviourists that would be useful to your problem but we cannot take surrenders. Sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused you but our responsibility lies with the 100s of homeless dogs in pounds that is the whole goal and mission of Staffy Rescue.

ADOPTED: Billie and Bandit

Both Billie and Bandit have been adopted over the week/weekend period!

Billie is now part of one of our volunteer Andrews new family

Bandit has gone to a lovely young couple!

We are so excited for them to get their second chance at life, as well as having some adoptions!!! Hopefully these two gorgeous dogs going will start an adoption frenzy!!! (fingers crossed)
